About us

Who we are

The Augsburg Ombuds Office started its work in June 2021. The office is headed by Dorothea Bezzel and Johannes Scheu.

Dorothea Bezzel is a state-certified educator and social worker. She has many years of experience in various fields of work in child and youth welfare.

Johannes Scheu has a master's degree in social sciences. In addition to child and youth welfare, he has been active in the field of family counselling and working with the disabled.

In addition, the Augsburg Ombuds Office is supported by experts from other disciplines. Our common goal is to strengthen the participation rights of young people and their families in the youth welfare system.

The Augsburg Ombuds Office is a cooperation between the Augsburger Kinderschutzbund e.V. and the City of Augsburg.

As a pilot project, the Ombuds Office is funded by the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales and evaluated by the Institut für Sozialpädagogische Forschung Mainz e.V.
